Acclaimed Contemporary Dancer Jennifer Archibald Teaches at Broadway Theatre Project
Dancer, artistic director, and choreographer, Jennifer Archibald taught at Broadway Theatre Project’s 2013 season as a guest artist. Archibald’s contemporary dance classes catered to apprentices of all levels. She taught apprentices how to pick up choreography quickly, a much needed skill for auditions. Her contemporary piece, “Reload” features eight BTP apprentices dancing to Delta Rae’s “Bottom of the River.” This piece will be part of BTP’s 23rd annual festival on July 27th at The University of South Florida.
Jennifer Archibald is the founder and artistic director of Arch Dance Company in New York City. She teaches at Dance New Amsterdam, Broadway Dance Center, and CAP 21 America’s Musical Theatre Conservatory. She has performed in major venues such as: John F. Kennedy Center for the Arts, Aaron Davis Hall, The Lincoln Theater, The Colony Theater, and MTV.
Broadway Theatre Project (BTP), a nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization, is the renowned musical theatre intensive that provides its apprentices with critical training in the disciplines of acting, dancing and singing, taught by a faculty of accomplished educators and performers. As part of its mission, the program strives to engender apprentices with the personal skills necessary to work and survive in the professional world of performing arts. 2013 Artistic Directors are Debra McWaters and Darren Gibson.
Broadway Theatre Project’s 23rd season is currently taking place July 7- 28, 2013 in Tampa, Florida. Jennifer joins the ranks of Gregory Hines, Austin Pendleton, Julie Andrews, Joel Grey, and Patti Lupone, among many others as a guest faculty member at the Project.
